The Sanctuary of Artemis Orthia was built near the banks of the Evrotas River, near the ancient town of Limnon. It was one of the most significant sanctuaries of the Spartan cult and was associated with the education of young Spartans.

On Stamatiras hill, a forested offshoot of Mt. Parnonas, among pastures and farmland between the villages Tsitzina and Vassara of the former municipality of Oinountas, surrounded by peaceful, scenic wilderness, we find the Monastery of Sts. Anargyroi. The monastery was first mentioned in the chrysobull, or golden seal decree of Andronikos II Palaiologos who defined the jurisdiction of the Metropolis of Monemvasia in 1293.

The “Call to Taygetos” is a successful series of summer events that is held every summer in the town of Xirokambi. It includes the screening of films, theatrical performances, concerts, exhibitions by local artists, music workshops and seminars, hiking trails and much more.

The Cultural Summer is an institution that has been held at the Sainopouleio amphitheatre since 1988.It is a series of events that include theatrical performances, Concerts and other events.
